Finance Assistant (hybrid working) full-time or part-time, Grove Business Park to start ASAP
Business Garage is an exciting, dynamic, growing company offering a wide range of outsourced business support services to SMEs locally. We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our finance team.
Business Garage has a great team culture. We trust our staff to be professional and meticulous while working autonomously (with support as needed). As we’re working on a hybrid basis (split between home and our office in Grove Business Park), you’ll need excellent communication skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude. We are open to full-time or part-time working, with 1 to 2 days per week in our office.
The role
This is a great opportunity for a Finance Assistant to support a range of SME clients. Responsibilities will include:
- Sales ledger
- Purchase ledger
- Supplier payments including payment runs
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Processing of monthly / weekly payrolls
- Credit card reconciliations
- Staff expenses
- Bank management
- Intercompany transactions
- VAT
- Bank management including bank reconciliations
- Credit control
- Any other duties for the Finance Manager to support the finance function
- Answering the telephone / administration
The person
You will support the Finance Manager with all aspects of the day to day running of the accounts function on behalf of our clients. You should be an accomplished Bookkeeper, with experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger, VAT, banking (and ideally payroll, although training can be provided).
We’re a Xero Silver Champion Partner. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a range of accounting software, such as Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, and have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The ideal person will also have a strong customer service ethos, be used to liaising with clients and customers, and be highly organized as part of this varied role will include handling bookings.
